About The Position

The YWCA Rock County is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Child Care Site Supervisor to add to our team! Hours for this role include a split morning and afternoon shift; primarily working weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends as required, on-call duties. The Child Care Site Supervisor is a leader that role models the YWCA mission and values and is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of a particular site. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience and educational background in group activities and planning daily programs.
  • Ability to meet Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services licensing requirements.
  • Current CPR, AED, Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention certifications; or obtain during a company offered training course.
  • Ability to provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop a team approach with staff, volunteers and community partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enthusiastic, warm and approachable.
  • Experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated good judgement when making decisions; able to make collaborative decisions for the good of the YWCA.

Nice To Haves

  • advanced degree in Early Childhood, CDA, Elementary Education, or related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the program in a positive environment of safety, support and care in keeping with Child Care Programs purpose.
  • Create and foster an environment that supports a wide range of activities and interests.
  • Develop, plan, and implement age-appropriate activities using weekly lesson plan format.
  • Supervise and interact with children to help them develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.
  • Provide daily oversight of childcare staff, including training, mentoring, scheduling and timesheet management.
  • Interact positively with children and adults that convey respect, support and trust; distribute information to parents as needed.
  • Comply with all state licensing regulations, Dept. of Public Instruction guidelines, and Young Star.
  • Manage and document student attendance, medical logs and other required student and site records.
  • Follow up on requests and information from support staff listed in meeting notes, stated in voicemail, or any other form of communication.
  • Initiate and maintain communication with school personnel, principals and support staff.
  • Complete annual program assessment and quality improvement plan.
  • Review quality improvement plan and child assessments twice yearly.
  • Attend staff meetings and monthly continuing education meetings, as required by the YWCA and/or state licensing rules for group day care centers
  • Set-up weekly staff meetings with all site staff to discuss programming, lesson planning, and other site issues.
  • Set up 2 parent events per year (open house, conferences, circus, etc.).
  • Monitor and maintain adequate snacks and supplies at the site (cups, bowls, plates, silverware, paper towels, food storage bags, blank schedules, table sanitizer, etc).
  • Participate in continuing education, as it relates to the role.
