About The Position

BrightPath Kids is seeking a full-time Lead Teacher for an infant classroom in Ellington, Connecticut. The Lead Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide children with a home-away-from-home experience in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role includes caring for and supervising children from 6 weeks to 12 years old in one assigned classroom, creating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities, maintaining a warm, safe, and clean environment, and partnering with families to support each child’s care and education. The position has no evening or weekend work.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Nice To Haves

• 2 or more years of experience in a licensed child care facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
• Curate programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and allows children to grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans that provide the best care and education for their children.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
