About The Position

Responsible for providing a positive child care experience for the children of our guests and employees. Effectively manage the licensed childcare at Loveland Basin, ensuring that all licensing requirements are met and maintained. Provide a safe and positive experience for all staff, and children/parents who participate in using the child care. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.

Requirements

  • Must hold (or be able to obtain) the qualifications required for the Director of a Small Child Care Center, as defined in 12 Code of Colorado Regulations Section 2509-8-7.702.44.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a childcare setting, including providing quality childcare and communicating effectively with parents.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, with strong decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work at high altitude, mostly indoors with occasional travel outdoors between buildings in severe winter weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English - speak and understand verbal and written communications. Must be able to communicate clearly with children, parents, licensor, inspectors, and other Loveland employees.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays during the Winter Season.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all licensing requirements are met and maintained.
  • Hiring and managing a team of Child Care employees including leadership and line level positions. Position will be a working manager at times (i.e., expected to provide childcare).
  • Developing and providing appropriate training for Child Care employees to start the winter season and on an ongoing basis throughout the season.
  • Building and maintaining a strong customer and employee focused culture.
  • Responding to, de-escalating, and resolving elevated guest situations, as needed.
  • Providing guidance and managing the performance of all Child Care employees, including performance feedback, recognition, redirection, and discipline, as needed.
  • Managing the financial performance of the department.
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining department safety programs including job hazard assessments, training, documentation, etc.
