About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring a Child Care Before & Afterschool Teacher/Bus Driver in Clayton. The role combines transporting elementary-aged children with supporting classroom activities and care. The employee follows transportation safety guidelines and assigned pick-up and drop-off schedules, completes bus inspections, and reports maintenance concerns. In the classroom, the employee works with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities, partners with families, documents children’s milestones using electronic tracking, and follows enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Clean driving record.
• At least six months of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• Ability to stand six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to visually supervise children at all times.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience working with children in child care, daycare, or preschool.
• Early childhood coursework, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or a degree.

Responsibilities

• Follow local and state transportation safety guidelines.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly bus inspections and report maintenance concerns to leadership.
• Follow the assigned schedule for elementary-aged children’s pick-up and drop-off.
• Comply with Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations.
• Work with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and help ensure the classroom functions smoothly.
• Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
• Use electronic daily tracking to document children’s milestones.
• Follow enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
• Visually supervise children at all times.
