About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring a full-time Associate Teacher to work with infants and toddlers at its child care center located at Penn State University. The role involves supporting children’s care and learning in an in-person early education/preschool setting, following Bright Horizons policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. The position offers opportunities to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
Must demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
Must respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
Must maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate energy level to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones.
Help ensure a safe and clean classroom by following required procedures and guidelines.
Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance.
