About The Position

Norwest Early Learning and Child Care Centre is seeking a full-time, term Child Care Assistant. This position involves ensuring the physical care and safety of children, providing emotional support, and fostering their growth and development. The role requires adherence to the Centre's policies, including behavior management and confidentiality, while working collaboratively with a team to meet the individual needs of children requiring additional support. Regular communication with families is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Classification as Child Care Assistant
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and communication skills
  • Current first-aid and CPR certification (Level C)
  • Good understanding of Manitoba Child Care Program’s Regulations
  • Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
  • Must be willing to take initiative
  • Subject to successful criminal record with vulnerable sector search & child abuse registry check.
  • Must complete mandatory 40-hour course approved by Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care (within first 6 months of employment)

  • To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
  • To work with a team of professionals to meet the individual needs of children who require additional supports.
  • Communicate regularly with families
  • To work directly with children and families who require additional supports
  • Other duties as assigned
