This position is for a Child Care Assistant at the Child Development Center. The role involves planning and executing early childhood education experiences to promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child. The assistant will work with the director and teachers in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities, helping to establish a program environment that promotes positive interactions, and assisting in providing and leading planned activities. The role requires interacting with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques, as well as interacting professionally with staff, parents, and the command. Responsibilities also include assisting in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports. The assistant will help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials, monitor children in various settings, maintain control and account for their whereabouts and safety, and assist in preparing and serving snacks/meals. Routine caregiving tasks, assisting with materials and activities, receiving children, and attending to their physical needs are also part of the role. Ensuring care is provided in accordance with standards, assisting in planning and conducting activities, conducting health checks, ensuring safety and well-being, completing reports, and interacting with parents are key duties. Other duties as assigned.
