We are seeking a caring and dependable Child Care Assistant to help provide a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children in our Child Care Center. This role involves assisting with daily childcare activities, supporting children’s development through play-based learning, and ensuring their overall health, safety, and well-being. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Infant/Child/Adult CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must pass a child abuse/neglect background check.
  • Must provide at least three character references.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children in a responsible, caring, and patient manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal education or training in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a daycare or childcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations of the Child Care Center.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Supervise children during daily routines including meals, naps, toileting, and playtime.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, including sanitizing toys, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Assist children with dressing, diapering, and hygiene needs as appropriate.
  • Escort children to activities and assist with transitions throughout the day.
  • Monitor children’s behavior and development; report concerns to the Child Care Facilitator.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, behavior, and developmental progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and participate in conferences as needed.
  • Report supply needs and equipment issues to management.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide support in other childcare roles as needed to meet staffing requirements.
