About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring Assistant Teachers, including a full-time position for an experienced teacher in the Infant room and a part-time position for an experienced teacher to float across classrooms. The role supports the Lead Teacher in facilitating daily activities and keeping the classroom running smoothly, partners with families to nurture and care for children, and uses electronic daily tracking to document children’s milestones. Assistant Teachers follow enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe. The academy describes an inclusive, family-feel work environment and offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities, with a potential path from Assistant Teacher to Center Director. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Ability to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Successful completion of background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a Child Development Associate (CDA), or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Visually supervise children at all times.
