About The Position

BrightPath Kids is seeking a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher at its Maryvale, New York center. The assistant teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide children with a home-away-from-home environment, following NAEYC guidelines. The role focuses on supporting infant children’s safety, supervision, learning, and participation in classroom activities. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided; prior classroom experience is not required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of infant-age children.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classrooms, indoors and outdoors, as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
• Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
