Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher at its South Windsor, Connecticut center. The role is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. and continue until the center closes at 6 p.m.; evenings and weekends are not required. The listed pay range is $16.94–$18.50. The assistant teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home environment for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The position serves children from 6 weeks through 12 years of age. Classroom experience is not required because paid training on classroom procedures is provided.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
- Decorate classrooms indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
- Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
