About The Position

The Child Care Assistant Teacher works side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home for children in care, following NAEYC guidelines. The role supports classroom instruction, child safety and supervision, and a warm, clean environment that encourages children to grow and explore. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and classroom experience is not required. The position is part-time, with no evenings or weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
