Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
BrightPath Kids, formerly Imagination Station and part of the BrightPath Kids and Busy Bees global childcare community, is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher at its Elma East, New York center. The role offers $16.00–$18.00 per hour and has no evening or weekend work. Paid training is provided for classroom procedures, so prior classroom experience is not required. The Assistant Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide children with a home-away-from-home experience according to NAEYC guidelines. The position supports children ages 6 weeks through 12 years and helps maintain a safe, welcoming, clean environment where children can learn, grow, and explore.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks through 12 years.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
- Decorate classroom interiors and outdoor areas as needed.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that supports children's growth and exploration.
- Interact with children and encourage their participation in activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
