Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher at its South Windsor, Connecticut center. The role is scheduled as a closer, working a 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. start through closing at 6:00 p.m. The position pays $16.94–$18.50 per hour and does not require evening or weekend work. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and prior classroom experience is not required. The Assistant Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home experience for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role supports children from 6 weeks to 12 years old and helps maintain a warm, safe, clean environment where they can learn and explore.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
- Decorate classrooms inside and outside as needed.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
- Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
