About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher Toddler at its Newtown center. The assistant teacher works side-by-side with teachers and families to provide children with a home-away-from-home experience according to NAEYC guidelines. The role includes supporting children’s safety, supervision, learning, and participation in classroom activities, while helping maintain a warm, clean, and safe environment. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and classroom experience is not required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classrooms inside and outside as needed.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and allows children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
