Child Autism Therapist (Bachelor's Degree Required)
About The Position
Action Behavior Centers hires caring people to help children with autism build communication, social, and independent skills. As a Child Autism Therapist, you will work one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy. The role is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; optional Saturdays may be available based on patient needs. The position is at 3131 RDU Center Dr., Morrisville, NC 27560, and immediate openings are available. No prior experience is necessary. The company provides paid training and covers the cost of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Employees must complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire. A bachelor's degree is required, and proof that the degree was awarded must be provided during hiring before an employment offer can be extended. Pay depends on education and previous ABA experience: $16.50–$25.50 per hour for a bachelor's degree and $17.50–$27 per hour for a master's degree. The first raise is awarded after earning RBT certification, with further raises every six months tied to clear growth goals. The role offers guaranteed full-time hours, a supportive team-focused environment, and growth opportunities into positions such as Clinical Administrator, Operations Manager, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Employees may occasionally support a nearby ABC clinic when additional coverage is needed.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a bachelor's degree and provide a diploma or transcript showing the degree was awarded and its conferral date.
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Be comfortable sitting, standing, crouching, and frequently getting on and off the floor.
- Be able to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
- Have reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Be willing to complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Childcare experience, such as nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or tutor.
- Mental health experience, such as QMHP or behavioral health technician work.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, caregiver, or life skills assistant.
- A background in psychology, child development, or health sciences.
Responsibilities
- Follow personalized treatment plans and collect simple session data.
- Help children learn through play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities.
- Stay active and engaged throughout therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with a supportive team focused on helping children grow and succeed.
- Occasionally support a nearby ABC clinic if additional coverage is needed.
