Child Autism Therapist (Bachelor's Degree Required)
About The Position
Action Behavior Centers hires caring people to help children with autism build communication, social, and independent skills. The Child Autism Therapist works one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy. No prior experience is necessary; paid training is provided, and the company fully covers Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. The role requires a bachelor's degree, with proof of degree completion required during the hiring process before an employment offer can be extended. The position is based at 3100 Highwoods Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604, with immediate openings available. The role offers guaranteed full-time hours and opportunities to grow into positions such as Clinical Administrator, Operations Manager, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a bachelor's degree and provide proof of the awarded degree, such as a diploma or transcript showing the degree and conferral date.
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Be comfortable sitting, standing, crouching, and getting on and off the floor frequently.
- Be able to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
- Have reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire.
- No prior experience is necessary.
Nice To Haves
- Childcare experience, such as nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or tutor.
- Mental health experience, such as QMHP or behavioral health technician.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, caregiver, or life skills assistant.
- A degree in Psychology, Child Development, or Health Sciences.
Responsibilities
- Follow personalized treatment plans and collect simple session data.
- Help children learn through play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities.
- Stay active and engaged throughout therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with a supportive team focused on helping children grow and succeed.
- Occasionally support a nearby ABC clinic if additional coverage is needed.
