Child Autism Therapist (Bachelor's Degree Required)
About The Position
Action Behavior Centers is hiring a Child Autism Therapist to work one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy. The role supports children in developing communication, social, and independent skills. No prior experience is necessary; the company provides paid training and covers the cost of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. The position requires a bachelor's degree, with proof of the awarded degree required during hiring before an employment offer can be extended. This is a full-time role at the Spring, Texas location, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Optional Saturdays may be available based on patient needs. The position offers guaranteed full-time hours and opportunities for advancement into roles such as Clinical Administrator, Operations Manager, or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a bachelor's degree and provide proof that the degree was awarded (diploma or official transcript).
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Be comfortable sitting, standing, crouching, and frequently getting on and off the floor.
- Be able to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
- Have reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Be willing to complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Childcare experience, such as working as a nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or tutor.
- Experience in mental health roles, such as QMHP or behavioral health technician.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, caregiver, or life skills assistant.
- A background or degree in psychology, child development, or health sciences.
- Previous ABA experience.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy.
- Follow personalized treatment plans and collect session data.
- Help children learn through play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities.
- Remain active and engaged throughout therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with a supportive team focused on helping children grow and succeed.
- Occasionally support a nearby ABC clinic if additional coverage is needed.
