We are Entrust, and we are seeking a Child and Youth Disability Support Worker for a permanent full-time overnight shift in one of our 78 homes in Edmonton. Requirements

A related degree or training in disability services, sensory processing, and/or developmental assessments.
Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Skilled in wheelchair support, paralysis care, G-tube feeding, and compassionate trauma-informed approaches that foster safety, trust, and independence.
At least 1-2 years of direct experience working with clients with complex developmental disabilities (e.g., autism, intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges).
Proven ability to implement and adapt behavioral intervention plans (e.g., ABA, positive behavior support).
Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviors.
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact with complex needs clients using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, AAC) is a strong asset.
Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (obtained within the last 3 months).
Child & Youth Intervention Record Check (obtained within the last 3 months).
Intermediate First Aid / CPR Level C Certification (obtained within the last 3 months).

Nice To Haves

Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact with complex needs clients using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, AAC) is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Support individuals by ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard, while promoting empowerment and respect for their choices.
Provide dignified personal care, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, mobility, and nighttime routines while managing medication and addressing health concerns.
Conduct 3 visual checks throughout the night to ensure individuals remain safe, healthy, and free from harm, while balancing these responsibilities with rest periods, when possible.
Assist in communicating their needs and administer First Aid as required to ensure their safety and well-being.
Ensure the home is safe and secure. Assist with tasks like cleaning, laundry, decorating, encouraging individuals to participate to the best of their abilities and fostering a sense of independence and ownership in their living environment.
