This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The position requires upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating outcomes, and taking action as needed. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also includes pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. The nurse will perform appropriate delegation and maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation. The position may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify age-specific needs.
