About The Position

The Four Corners Regional Health Center (FCRHC) is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a part-time position. This role involves providing outpatient psychiatry services, including assessments, prescribing psychotropic medications, and treatment for psychiatric needs, primarily for children and adolescents. The psychiatrist will also provide consultation and education to clinical staff. Services are delivered remotely via Webex, with at least one in-person day per month at the FCRHC Mental Health Services Department in Red Mesa, Arizona. The position requires sensitivity to cross-cultural and language differences and the ability to work through interpreters. There are no weekend, holiday, overtime, or on-call responsibilities. An additional 100 hours are available for mandatory training and urgent/emergency psychiatry services.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a foreign medical school accredited by NCFMEA and ECFMG for foreign graduates.
• Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General and Child & Adolescent psychiatry.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• All licenses health must not have/ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, pending action, or denied upon application.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient psychiatry duties and manage patient needs identified by the Service Unit.
• Provide psychiatric assessments for children and adolescents.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications for psychiatric needs.
• Provide psychiatric treatment for psychiatric needs.
• Provide consultation and education for clinical medical and mental health staff regarding assessment and treatment of specific patients and overall mental health issues, as appropriate.
• Record patient contacts in the FCRHC medical record following established Client policies for documentation.
• Show sensitivity to cross-cultural and language differences and be able to work through interpreters necessary for non-English speaking patients.
