About The Position

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on the ReThink team sees patients in both the outpatient and partial hospitalization setting and the care they provide includes: Evaluating patients’ mental health status through interviews, observations, tests and medical histories;Developing comprehensive treatment plans in conjunction with other healthcare professionals;Prescribing and managing medications;Providing psychotherapy services;Determining appropriate level of care specifically related to eating disorder treatment as well as writing admission orders for partial hospitalization as appropriate;Collaborating with a broader team of physicians and advanced practice providers, registered dietitian nutritionists, psychologists and mental health providers as well as nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans;Documenting and maintaining patient records;Staying up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in child psychiatry including eating disorder diagnosis and treatment;Communicating with families to educate and inform them about their child’s condition and treatment plan.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completed residency in Psychiatry
  • Board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Valid and current state medical license
  • Strong knowledge in child psychiatry principles, procedures and techniques
  • Interest in eating disorders and in making the hard easier
