About The Position

Fidelia Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (MD or DO) to join our multidisciplinary clinical team. This role focuses strictly on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical consultation for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth. You will work closely with our therapists, CBHI community teams, and the leadership team to provide integrated, high-quality, and trauma-informed psychiatric care to families in our community.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited General Psychiatry Residency AND an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
  • Active, unencumbered medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Active Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR) and federal DEA registration.
  • Deep expertise in treating pediatric populations presenting with acute trauma, developmental differences, and behavioral health crises.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a community mental health center (CMHC) environment or collaborating with state-funded insurance programs (MassHealth/Carelon/Optum) is a plus.
  • Fluency or clinical proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese is highly preferred to support our diverse patient population, though all qualified prescribers will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents presenting with complex emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental challenges (including ADHD, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, and severe trauma).
  • Safely prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications for pediatric populations, adhering strictly to pediatric psychopharmacology standards and Massachusetts state monitoring guidelines.
  • Act as the core medical/psychiatric consultant for our clinical team, participating in case consultations and collaborating with therapists, mentors, and the Operations Director to ensure holistic client care.
  • Complete psychiatric evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plan sign-offs in our secure Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within standard compliance timelines. Maintain a high standard of HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide clinical and diagnostic direction during high-risk pediatric psychiatric crises or complex diagnostic presentations.
