About The Position

Our client, a private equity-backed financial services company in the New York City metro area, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to drive technology strategy, digital transformation, and innovation. As the company continues to scale, the CTO will play a critical role in modernizing the technology infrastructure, leading cloud transformation, and optimizing cybersecurity and data strategy to support growth and operational efficiency. As CTO, you will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and private equity sponsors, overseeing the company’s IT strategy, technology investments, and engineering teams. This role requires a technology leader with deep experience in financial services, fintech, or related sectors, and a track record of implementing scalable, secure, and innovative tech solutions in high-growth environments.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience, with prior CTO, CIO, or senior technology executive experience in a private equity-backed financial services, fintech, or banking company preferred.
  • Proven experience leading cloud transformation, cybersecurity strategy, and enterprise IT modernization.
  • Deep knowledge of financial technology, regulatory frameworks, and data security in financial services.
  • Experience in M&A technology integration, digital platform development, and scaling IT functions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to partner with PE investors, board members, and C-suite executives.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with AI, blockchain, or advanced analytics in financial services is a plus.
  • MBA, MS in Computer Science, or relevant certifications (CISSP, AWS, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT and digital strategy aligned with business objectives and PE-backed growth plans.
  • Lead the migration to cloud-based architecture, optimize IT operations, and ensure scalable infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce best-in-class cybersecurity protocols and regulatory compliance (SOC, PCI, ISO, etc.).
  • Oversee data governance, AI/ML initiatives, and advanced analytics to drive business intelligence and decision-making.
  • Lead software development teams to enhance digital platforms, improve customer experience, and develop new technology-driven revenue streams.
  • Lead IT due diligence and post-merger technology integration for acquisitions.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing technology team, fostering innovation and collaboration.

  • Performance-Based Bonus (50-100% of base salary)
