About The Position

We are seeking a business-minded Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and product evolution from a growth stage into market maturity. This role operates at the intersection of HealthTech, FinTech, and LegalTech. The CTO will inherit a talented team of approximately 30 individuals, including Tech Leads, Product Managers, Designers, and engineers, distributed across LATAM and the US. A key initiative for this role is the merging of independent product lines and infrastructures from four related companies into one unified, elegant, and secure ecosystem. This is a role for a High-Complexity Generalist who excels in technical orchestration, creative problem-solving, and empathetic team building.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of scaling B2B SaaS products from early development to maturity.
  • Experience with M&A / multi-platform integration, including merging independent product lines, disparate codebases, and disconnected teams into one engineering unit.
  • Mastery in modernizing legacy architectures and systematically dismantling technical debt.
  • Product-minded engineering edge, with the ability to connect engineering deeply to product design and the human user journey.
  • Understanding of data schemas and user experience (UX).
  • High emotional intelligence for navigating transitions, mediating across technical egos, and building trust-based cultures.
  • Hands-on expertise with secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), data management, and PII/HIPAA-compliant environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional-level English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work core US Eastern Time (EST) hours.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in HealthTech, FinTech, LegalTech, or highly regulated operational marketplaces.
  • Experience working within a US-based startup or growth-stage SaaS company while managing distributed remote teams in Latin America.
  • Background in contract lifecycle management (CLM) or multi-party transaction platforms.
  • Familiarity with internationalization/localization of software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner, acting as a peer and trusted advisor to the C-Level.
  • Master the business models and regulatory boundaries of all product lines, bringing business-driven questions, rigorous data, and structured options to the executive table.
  • Mentor and empower Tech Leads with high emotional intelligence, transparency, and stability, fostering a culture of continuity and psychological safety.
  • Treat each Tech Lead as an autonomous owner of their domain while aligning them under a unified architectural vision.
  • Champion the necessary team structures, such as dedicated Product Owners.
  • Audit and deeply understand the infrastructures across legacy applications.
  • Refactor, upgrade, and stabilize legacy applications, resolving technical debt without halting product velocity.
  • Orchestrate the integration of internal platforms, external APIs, and banking escrow systems into a cohesive, secure, and robust infrastructure.
  • Drive practical product innovation through strategic AI, focusing on customer-facing AI that creates real value (e.g., predictive matching, automated document drafting, smarter workflow usability).
  • Exercise judgment to determine when AI is the appropriate tool.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, paid in USD, as an independent contractor
  • Flexible/unlimited PTO
  • Performance bonus and long-term incentive structure (details to be discussed)
  • Remote-first work environment
  • Occasional international travel for team gatherings and key meetings
