About The Position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is the company’s top technology leader. As an integral member of the executive team, the CTO sets the overarching technology roadmap, ensuring that all technologies deployed are built for scale, security, and competitive advantage. The CTO drives the company’s shift to a more modern enterprise architecture, enabling advanced digitization as a competitive advantage to the operations of the business. Leading a high-impact team of 40+, the incumbent must possess refined emotional intelligence, a high degree of integrity, and a proven history of managing complex, modern technology environments across any industry landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven background as a CTO, CIO, or Head of Technology with responsibility for scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading business-enabling IT organizations, and positively impacting the business by the migration to more technology-enabled business processes.
  • Experience managing complex networks with a mix of strategic, tactical, and service responsibilities.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience planning and managing multi-million dollar IT budgets.
  • Expert-level experience managing organizations powered by enterprise ERPs/CRMs and a deep understanding of US data privacy requirements.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of focused work, whether it's collaborating with colleagues, analyzing data, or developing strategies.
  • Effective communication and sharp visual acuity for reviewing complex documents and performing detailed computer work.
  • Ability to move actively throughout the office and travel occasionally to various locations, including dynamic construction sites, utilizing different modes of transportation.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a relevant field.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Define, communicate, and execute a multi-year technology strategy that aligns with long-term business goals and anticipates market shifts.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the leadership team, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Manage the organization’s innovation pipeline, encouraging experimentation through agile principles and the ethical integration of emerging capabilities like Generative AI.
  • Foster a solution-oriented culture that values business enablement, high accountability, and a "security-first" mindset.
  • Act as the primary catalyst for digital transformation, securing buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders, from Board members to field operations.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing technical staff using a supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented approach.
  • Drive alignment among individual IT departments to enhance success and impact across a strategic set of enterprise priorities.
  • Lead the transition from a portfolio of point solutions to a more streamlined, scalable, and cost-effective architecture (Cloud, SaaS, Microservices) to support an evolving growth strategy.
  • Direct a comprehensive enterprise-wide architecture evolution to better integrate systems and data, and enable workflow based technology capabilities through seamless data and process flow across disparate systems.
  • Set the priority for modernizing and optimizing ERP, CRM, and Knowledge Management systems.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental alignment through a robust systems governance structure, ensuring the organization maximizes the ROI of its software investments.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to audit and optimize core business workflows, driving towards increased leverage of technology and automation to eliminate manual bottlenecks.
  • Develop and manage the total IT operating and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring strict alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the fiscally responsible procurement of all technology assets, managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms and service levels.
  • Lead the strategy and maintenance of all IT infrastructure to ensure national project teams and operations remain fully functional and connected 24/7.
  • Oversee the operability, health, and security of technology systems, communication lines, and equipment, prioritizing network health and reliability.
  • Review and manage IT resource demands to ensure infrastructure meets both current operational needs and anticipated future growth in a cost-effective manner.
  • Strengthen the data ecosystem through implementation of robust governance, data lifecycle management, adherence to privacy standards, and advanced analytics tools that facilitate high-level business decisions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to monitor and validate compliance with internal controls and information security policies.
  • Own the comprehensive disaster recovery strategy to ensure business continuity and zero data loss.
