About The Position

Nazareth Hospital is looking for a Chief Plant Operations Stationary Engineer to join our Plant Operations Team. This role acts as a liaison between the Director of Plant Operations and the plant operations personnel, assisting the Director in the monitoring and supervision of hospital facilities, equipment, and staff. The Chief Operations Plant Stationary Engineer will submit work schedules, delegate specific job assignments, and assist the Director in orienting new employees and contractors. Responsibilities include performing maintenance on pressure boilers, hot water heating systems, and air handling units, as well as dismantling machinery and equipment to repair or replace defective parts. Other duties may be assigned by the director.

Requirements

  • High School graduate and/or vocational training
  • City of Philadelphia Class "A" Stationary Engineer License
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in several trades
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints and work from drawings
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in building maintenance techniques
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the operations of elevators and emergency power generators.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience and demonstrate supervisory qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between the Director of Plant Operations and the plant operations personnel.
  • Assists the Director in the monitoring and supervision of the hospital facilities, equipment and staff.
  • Submits work schedules, delegates specific job assignments to engineer personnel as approved by the Director of Plant Operations.
  • Assists Director in orienting new employees and contractors in plant operations functions.
  • Performs maintenance involving inspection, greasing, oiling, adjusting and cleaning on pressure boilers, hot water heating systems, air handling units.
  • Dismantles machinery and equipment to gain access to and the removal of defective parts and repairs and replaces worn or broken parts.
  • Other duties as assigned by director
