About The Position

Cheshire Medical Center, located in Keene, NH and a member of the Dartmouth Health system, is pleased to announce a national search for its next Chief of Pediatrics. This role reports directly to the Chair of Primary Care and has a dotted line reporting structure to the Chief Medical Officer. The Chief provides oversight for the clinical and administrative functions of the outpatient pediatric clinic as well as the Inpatient Newborn Nursery. The Chief of Pediatrics position is 0.9 FTE clinical and 0.1 FTE administrative role. The role oversees a provider staff of 8, including both physicians and advanced practice providers. 24/7 call responsibilities are 1:6 on average for deliveries and nursery, including neonatal resuscitations. Cheshire Medical Center averages 400 deliveries per year and has a Level 1 Nursery with teleICN coverage. A successful candidate will be someone who can strategize and set goals while mentoring the Pediatric providers, handling personnel matters, and assuming shared responsibility for fiscal and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of practice in Pediatrics
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership experience
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics
  • NRP Certification
  • Ability to maintain medical licensure in the state of New Hampshire

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for the clinical and administrative functions of the outpatient pediatric clinic as well as the Inpatient Newborn Nursery.
