Chief Product Officer

MonstroNew York, NY

About The Position

Monstro is seeking a Chief Product Officer (CPO) to own the strategy, roadmap, design, and execution of its category-creating products. This role is a rare opportunity to lead the development of two distinct products: a bank-branded mobile consumer experience and an institutional platform for bankers, advisors, and operators. The CPO will inherit a launched MVP, enhance it based on client feedback and scaling demands, and define how the two products connect as a unified system. The position requires strong judgment in a new territory, a high standard for product quality, and the leadership to grow a team that operates at Monstro's pace. The CPO will be at the forefront of redefining how banking works for everyone, transforming financial interactions at scale and driving cross-functional alignment to ensure the company's success.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in product overall, with meaningful time at the CPO or equivalent level in an early-stage or growth-stage environment.
  • AI-native mindset with hands-on experience across prototyping, requirements, user stories, and technical handoff.
  • Deep experience in fintech, wealth, banking, or complex regulated data products.
  • Proven track record leading two distinct products (consumer and institutional) and managing the complexity between them.
  • Experience taking a product from initial launch through client feedback cycles into scaled institutional deployment.
  • Comfortable inheriting a small team and building it into a high-performing product organization.
  • Strong builder DNA - experience with lean teams, fast iteration cycles, and real client constraints.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Calm, precise communicator across executive conversations, institutional partner meetings, and day-to-day with engineering and design.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the existing product team of two product managers, setting standards for planning, prioritization, decision-making, and quality.
  • Hire product talent as scope grows and lead design from day one.
  • Own the post-MVP phase, enhancing the product based on roadmap priorities and client feedback.
  • Manage client delivery, including implementation, configuration, and go-live, in close partnership with engineering.
  • Shape the product from MVP into deployment across millions of users in collaboration with institutional design partners.
  • Manage the roadmap across both the consumer and institutional products as client priorities and business direction evolve.
  • Define how the bank-branded consumer experience and the institutional platform connect, share intelligence, and reinforce each other.
  • Ensure both products meet the precision and accountability standards required by institutional clients.
  • Define a modern, AI-first product process suitable for a regulated, high-accountability environment.
  • Leverage AI tools natively across prototyping, requirements, user journeys, and technical handoff.
  • Build from first principles, creating a new category of AI-native financial infrastructure.
  • Create the language and mental models for this new category.
  • Define how banks guide customers using AI-native intelligence, focusing on personalization, guidance, and actionability at scale.
  • Own Monstro's product narrative with bank partners, institutional design partners, and the market.
