About The Position

Supervises medical physicists, dosimetrists, and the physics department. Oversees and performs periodic calibration, monitoring, and safety evaluation of all radiation producing or ancillary equipment as well as the calculation of all patient dosimetry.

• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
• Therapeutic Radiological Physicist (TRP LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
• Three (3) year's experience as a clinical medical physicist.
• The American Board of Radiology (ABR) or by The American Board for Medical Physics (ABMP).

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with the MHS Administration, Joint Commission (JC), Human Resources (HR), American College of Radiology (ACR), American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (COC), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on radiation safety standards.
• Develops, implements, and monitors the organization's radiation safety program and ensures the program's compliance with applicable laws and regulations in conjunction with the Radiation Safety Officers.
• Performs and monitors imaging and therapeutic equipment testing and calibration.
• Develops and implements appropriate shielding designs, frequent surveys, and routine exposure monitoring.
• Collaborates with dosimetrist and radiation oncologist to develop radiation therapy treatment plans.
• Develops and monitors protocols and policies to ensure accurate patient dosimetry.
• Supervises and performs treatment planning and participates in the administration of treatment.
