About The Position

TO EFFECTIVELY DEPLOY AND MANAGE THE OPERATIONS RESOURCES (PHYSICAL, HUMAN, AND FINANCIAL), DRIVES OVERSIGHT, COMPLIANCE WITH ALL OUTSIDE REGULATORY AND ACCREDITING SERVICES, AND OVERSEE OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF WE ARE BLOOD TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION AND GOALS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership management and/or supervisory experience in a blood center required.
  • Relevant experience in a highly regulated environment may substitute for formal education.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written as well as presentation skills.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to lead by example.
  • Must have the ability to handle difficult situations and deal with sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge.
  • Must exhibit professional conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Requires strong interpersonal, organizational experience, and demonstrated success in project and time management.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to meet assigned timeline tasks as required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree with RN, MT (ASCP), SBB, or related field preferred.
  • Prefer management level budget experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations processes of We Are Blood including blood donor screening, collections, clinical services, components preparation, donor testing, reference laboratory, inventory management, distribution, and supply chain.
  • Participate in developing and implementing the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Provide leadership in establishing and accomplishing operational goals and objectives.
  • In conjunction with Executives and VPs, develop business plans and monitor the execution of each plan. Responsible for the oversite of the operational planning/budgeting and compliance for meeting budgets, goals, and objectives.
  • Prepare and present operational reports and metrics as directed by the CEO.
  • Provide leadership and direction for reporting staff in evaluating, coaching, and counseling employees. Ensure timely and effective training, feedback, and constructive guidance to improve employees’ job performance and to expand their knowledge, skills, and technique.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of service and professionalism are exhibited throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that exceptional customer service is provided both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for operational compliance with applicable industry standards, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Function as a subject matter expert in matters relating to the FDA, AABB, FACT, and any other applicable regulatory authority.
  • Promote through leadership and example compliance with all operational and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company and actively participate in the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), America’s Blood Center (ABC) and other relevant professional organizations or groups.
