The COO must be hands-on and leads by example to motivate and mentor staff to deliver measurable, accountable, cost-effective results that further the mission of LSCHC. The COO is an integral part of the leadership team and oversees and directs all internal operations at each of LSCHC’s clinic sites. The COO is also an essential contributor to the clinic’s growth planning process and helps to share the future of a growing, financially healthy, well-respected clinic. Reporting to the CEO, the COO takes the lead role in building, implementing and overseeing the clinic’s systems, processes, workflows and procedures. The COO has bottom line responsibility for leading and managing all operational and administrative aspects of the organization to ensure efficient operations, including the establishment and achievement of patient encounter targets and other budget related targets, and the achievement of quality and service excellence goals. The COO will be actively engaged in strategic decision making and in ensuring that strategic initiative are woven into the clinic’s operations. Some specific areas of responsibility include supervision of the clinic managers, telehealth, HPSA/NHSC management, achievement of patient targets, workforce development (in collaboration with HR), HRSA compliance and OSV readiness, and all other aspects of operational performance. The COO will work closely with the facilities manager on infrastructure projects.
