About The Position

Our client, CCANY (Coordinated Care Alliance New York), is one of New York State's largest organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), supporting more than 50,000 individuals and families through care management, advocacy, and innovative support services. Operating across multiple affiliated organizations with a substantial statewide footprint, the organization is investing in growth, technology, data analytics, and quality initiatives designed to improve outcomes for the people it serves. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven executive to help lead one of the most influential organizations in the IDD sector. The Chief Operating Officer will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO, providing leadership across operational, quality, technology, and service functions while helping position the organization for continued growth and innovation. The successful candidate will oversee large-scale operations, lead a team of senior executives, drive organizational performance, and help strengthen the systems, processes, and culture needed to support the organization's long-term vision.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive executive leadership experience.
  • Experience leading large, complex organizations with significant budgets and workforce scale.
  • A track record of operational improvement, growth, and organizational transformation.
  • Strong business, financial, and leadership acumen.
  • Experience overseeing multiple functional areas such as operations, quality, compliance, technology, human resources, or healthcare services.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, Medicaid-funded programs, human services, managed care, behavioral health, IDD services, or similarly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to execute strategic priorities and organizational goals.
  • Provide executive oversight of core operational functions, including program operations, care management, quality, compliance, technology, and member services.
  • Drive operational excellence, performance improvement, and organizational scalability.
  • Enhance quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and member satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop senior leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support innovation initiatives leveraging technology, data analytics, and emerging tools to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providers, government agencies, and community partners.
