Requirements

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience within a financial institution such as banking, payments, insurance, investment services, or similar environments.
  • Experience presenting to or engaging with senior leadership, boards, or investors.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced or resource-constrained environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Self-motivated mindset with strong ownership and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous startup or scale-up experience, ideally within fintech or financial services.
  • Familiarity with MFSA or broader EU financial services regulatory frameworks.
  • Exposure across multiple business functions including operations, finance, compliance, HR, or legal.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable operational processes, systems, and controls.
  • Establish internal workflows, governance structures, and documentation standards.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions.
  • Work closely with the Founder to translate business vision into structured operational plans.
  • Prepare operational reports, strategic updates, and board-level documentation.
  • Manage cross-functional priorities and support company-wide execution.
  • Support operational activities across finance, people operations, compliance readiness, and business development.
  • Manage external suppliers, service providers, and key business relationships.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving business requirements within a startup environment.
  • Apply financial services industry knowledge to maintain high operational standards.
  • Support future regulatory readiness initiatives, including potential licensing preparation.
  • Promote a compliance-conscious and risk-aware operational culture.
  • Contribute to building a high-performance company culture based on accountability and ownership.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and team development initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
