About The Position

Restorative Response Baltimore (RRB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting restorative justice practices that transform conflict, repair harm, and strengthen relationships in communities. Through community conferencing, circle processes, and professional development programs, we support people of all ages in creating accountable, healing-centered approaches to justice.

Requirements

  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management, organizational strategy, operations, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and translating strategy into measurable plans, systems, and results.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to synthesize complex information, identify risks, clarify decisions, and move work forward in a changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and conflict-navigation skills.
  • Experience supporting organizational performance, change management, people systems, internal communications, and executive or board-facing work.
  • High level of discretion, organization, initiative, emotional intelligence, and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, restorative justice, and community-centered leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; advanced degree in nonprofit management, public administration, organizational development, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrated annual workplan, organizational scorecard, cross-functional milestones, risk register, and decision log.
  • Coordinate monthly operating reviews, quarterly organizational reviews, the midyear reset, and year-end learning and planning processes.
  • Synthesize program, finance, fundraising, people, partnership, and operational information into a clear performance picture for the Executive Director and leadership team.
  • Identify missed milestones, capacity constraints, and cross-team dependencies early; coordinate recovery plans with clear owners and deadlines.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director on organizational priorities, decisions, high-level initiatives, and emerging risks.
  • Design and facilitate effective leadership meetings and retreats; prepare agendas and briefing materials and ensure decisions and actions are documented and completed.
  • Clarify roles, decision rights, handoffs, and escalation pathways across program, operations, and administrative teams.
  • Prepare concise organizational updates, reports, and briefing materials for leadership, funders, partners, and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead special projects and organization-wide initiatives from planning through implementation, evaluation, and handoff.
  • Coordinate the integration of strategy, budget, staffing, program plans, fundraising priorities, and operating capacity.
  • Develop practical project plans, timelines, accountability tools, and communication plans; adjust sequencing when conditions change.
  • Resolve barriers through timely consultation, clear decisions, restorative accountability, and documented follow-through.
  • Partner with the Executive Director, managers, HR, and Operations to strengthen onboarding, policies, supervision practices, professional development, and performance management.
  • Maintain the staff performance calendar and support managers in setting expectations, documenting progress, addressing barriers, and completing review cycles.
  • Develop clear, timely internal communications that help staff understand decisions, priorities, responsibilities, and organizational changes.
  • Promote an equitable, inclusive, healthy, and restorative workplace culture grounded in transparency, accountability, dignity, and learning.
  • Monitor workload, staffing coverage, role clarity, communication, and culture risks; coordinate responsive action with appropriate leaders.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director and Executive Assistant to align board calendars, materials, decisions, and organizational follow-through.
  • Support funder, public-agency, and community-partner commitments by tracking dependencies, deliverables, reporting needs, and internal owners.
  • Coordinate annual and multiyear planning, including FYE28 strategy, budget, staffing, program, policy, and launch readiness.
  • Maintain organized, accessible records for organizational plans, decisions, risks, policies, performance cycles, and major initiatives.
