About The Position

This role is designed to support the CEO by managing the company's operating system, ensuring smooth execution of OKRs, and handling various operational tasks. The Chief of Staff will act as an extension of the CEO, gaining broad exposure to all aspects of the business. The position offers significant growth potential, with the aim of transitioning into a more senior role within 1-2 years as the company scales. The role is focused on helping the company run efficiently, complementing the product-building and sales efforts of other team members.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to translate conversations into documents, decisions, and follow-ups.
  • Experience creating customer-facing materials (decks, one-pagers, etc.).
  • 2–6 years of experience in management consulting, banking, or early-stage startup operations.
  • High agency and low ego.
  • Willingness to perform both logistical tasks (e.g., booking flights) and strategic tasks (e.g., challenging plans).
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information (compensation, fundraising, customer terms).
  • Ability to work in person in San Francisco, Monday–Thursday.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A desire to build alongside the company for the long term.

Nice To Haves

  • Top-tier consulting background (Bain, BCG, McKinsey or similar).
  • Experience working within a company that utilizes OKRs or another formal operating cadence.
  • Early-stage startup experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's operating cadence, including quarterly OKRs, weekly leadership and standup agendas, and decision logs.
  • Ensure follow-through on all action items originating from meetings across the company.
  • Oversee commercial and fundraising follow-through, including notes, actions, promised introductions, and materials owed after CEO's conversations with customers, partners, and investors.
  • Manage investor updates, data rooms, and board preparation.
  • Run the end-to-end hiring process, including scheduling, references, offers, and onboarding, as the team grows.
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects that do not have a designated owner.
  • Manage vendor selection, compliance calendars, office operations, and events.
  • Drive initiatives to completion.
  • Shadow the CEO for the first 30 days to understand all operational aspects.
  • Gradually take over operational tasks from the CEO, becoming the central point for operational load.
  • Contribute to defining the future scope and responsibilities of the role as the company grows.
