About The Position

NORY is seeking its Inaugural Chief of Staff, a vital role designed to extend the CEO's reach and ensure critical work progresses at the highest standard, even in the CEO's absence. This position is for a proven Operator who can transform ambiguous goals into concrete plans and drive them to completion with high agency and ownership. The role requires a hands-on approach to complex, high-touch operations and real-time decision-making, and is intentionally on-site and in-person.

Requirements

  • Outcome-Oriented & High-Agency: Focus on results, move seamlessly between strategic discussions and hands-on execution, push projects forward without waiting for permission, possess a strong drive to learn, take on new challenges, and help others get things done.
  • Systematic & Judgment-Driven: Remain calm and logical, prevent future problems by building scalable systems, make decisions based on data and logic.
  • Reliable, Disciplined & Empathetic: Lead with genuine kindness and empathy while holding the team to clear standards and deadlines, create positive interactions with staff and families, and raise concerns proactively.
  • Resilient & Adaptable: Thrive in a rapidly expanding, fast-paced environment, demonstrate flexibility, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and handle high-pressure requests or frequent interruptions diplomatically and constructively.
  • Proven Operator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a direct extension of the CEO, representing the CEO in internal meetings, communicating decisions with clarity and authority, and translating leadership direction into clear action plans.
  • Hold leaders accountable to commitments and timelines, acting as the driver of execution.
  • Ensure meetings result in concrete outcomes by tracking decisions, assigning ownership, closing loops, identifying risks, and resolving them before escalation.
  • Manage the CEO's calendar, information flow, and preparation, including triaging requests, scheduling, managing travel logistics, and filtering communication.
  • Drive execution across the organization, leading or supporting initiatives related to organizational execution, leadership alignment, hiring pipelines, onboarding systems, customer experience escalation, and internal operating rhythms.
  • Make priority and scheduling tradeoffs on behalf of the CEO without constant approval, escalating only what truly requires CEO involvement.
