About The Position

The Chief of Rehabilitation provides leadership and strategic direction for the inpatient rehabilitation services delivered at Bethany Children's Health Center. This role leads to oversight for the clinical quality, operational performance, financial sustainability, and strategic growth of rehabilitation programs, ensuring that every child served receives expert, compassionate, and evidence-based care that maximizes their functional potential and quality of life. The Chief of Rehabilitation believes that rehabilitation is not simply a clinical service, it is a transformative experience for children and families navigating some of the most challenging moments of their lives. This leader champions a culture where clinical excellence, innovation, and family-centered care intersect, and where every member of the rehabilitation team is empowered to deliver their best work. This position will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief of Rehabilitation translates the organization's mission and strategic priorities into a high performing rehabilitation service that operate efficiently sound, regulatory compliant, and consistently recognized for outstanding patient and family outcomes. This leader actively shapes the direction of the organization, contributes to hospital-wide decision-making, and serves as the primary internal and external advocate for pediatric rehabilitation services.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, Health Administration, or a closely related field required.
  • 5 years of leadership experience is required.
  • Current Oklahoma licensure or eligibility to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rehabilitation services in a pediatric or children's hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a multi-year strategic plan for Rehabilitation Services that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in pediatric rehabilitation to proactively position the organization for clinical innovation, program expansion, and competitive differentiation.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across clinical quality, operational efficiency, patient experience and workforce engagement reporting outcomes regularly to executive leadership and the board.
  • Develop, mentor, and retain a high performing team of rehabilitation leaders, clinicians, and support staff, building a workforce capable of delivering exceptional care today and into the future.
  • Champion employee engagement, well-being, and retention through visible, accessible leadership and proactive investment in staff development, recognition, and growth opportunities.
  • Set and uphold the highest standards of clinical quality across all rehabilitation disciplines, including but not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, recreational therapy, music therapy and child life.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols, care plans and practice standards that reflect current research and best practices in pediatric rehabilitation.
  • Lead the rehabilitation team in the continuous measurement, analysis, and improvement of patient outcomes, ensuring that data drives clinical decision making and program development.
  • Direct the day-to-day operational performance of Rehabilitation Services across all programs, ensuring efficient, high quality service delivery that meets the needs of patients and families.
  • Establish and maintain rehabilitation governance structures, including program level leadership accountability, quality review processes, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for new program development, service line expansion, and strategic partnerships that enhance access to pediatric rehabilitation services across Oklahoma.
