About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Electric Boat Uniformed Security Organization at the Groton CT facility. The successful candidate will lead the Plant Protection organization to include physical access control, perimeter patrols, patrol boat operations, training, and qualifications of Protection force. In this role, the Chief of Security is responsible for providing full security oversight for the Groton facility and all associated off-site facilities and reports directly to the Electric Boat Manager of Security. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to effectively identify, manage, and mitigate risk across all CT locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10+ years of Management/Supervisory experience
• 10+ years or more years of continuous experience within a professional Security or Municipal, State, Federal, or Military law enforcement organization.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the state in which you reside
• Legally and physically operating company vehicles and using Company issued equipment as required for the performance of assigned duties is required
• Obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to Work in a team environment and independently
• Strong interpersonal, public speaking, reporting and documentation skills
• Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts to serve the customer base
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization are a must
• Ability to maintain composure in high stress situations

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a proprietary armed guard force and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensuring the physical security of employees, visitors, contractors, facilities, deliveries, products, and sensitive information.
• Planning and executing security measures for dignitary and VIP visits, large-scale events and ceremonies at all EB facilities located in CT.
• Coordination with (City, State and Federal) law enforcement and Emergency Management agencies at all EB facilities located in the State of CT.
• Developing, implementing and evaluating training programs related to active shooter response, workplace violence prevention, and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Implementation of security plans for employees and visitors.
