About The Position

As Chief of Aircraft Maintenance, you will be part of our Corporate Aviation team working as an on-site employee. In this role, you are responsible for the overall maintenance, servicing, cleanliness, and record keeping of company aircraft, hangar, and ground support equipment; supervision of maintenance staff; promoting the highest standards of aviation safety, service, and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Five years’ experience as an A&P Technician.
  • Hold a current A&P License.
  • Demonstrated technical ability on airframes and engine models in areas of heavy maintenance, light maintenance and service bulletins.
  • Demonstrated technical ability on avionics, paints, sheet metal, and trim projects.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple activities to achieve quality maintenance within established timeframes.
  • Ability to supervise and schedule maintenance technicians.
  • Good interpersonal skills and written and verbal ability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Maintenance Department to ensure aircraft operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all work is in accordance with company policies/procedures. Complies with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs); quality procedures and manufacturer’s approved maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians on aircraft maintenance, engine configurations, and modification projects; including service bulletins, directives and enhancements. Must be up to date on scope of required maintenance and coordinates efforts to ensure a timely turnaround of the company aircraft.
  • Assure that all technicians are well trained on assigned aircraft, engines, and modifications requirements. Responsible for On-the-Job Training of all technicians assigned to the maintenance department. Also, responsible for scheduling periodic technical training at designated off-site locations.
  • Report to and coordinate with the Senior Manager, Aviation for maintenance planning, flight scheduling, budgeting and personnel functions.
  • Pre-plan scope of work on the aircraft, engines and modifications including developing action plans and pre-ordering parts to perform maintenance required.
  • Responsible for all paperwork and recording keeping of the maintenance department.
  • Ensure proper tooling is used, safe and within calibration; that all technical manuals have latest revisions. Supports and adheres to safety, environmental and general housekeeping policies. Is proactive in safety; promotes safe work habits to the maintenance personnel, monitors the work environment for safety hazards and takes steps to address/remove hazards.
  • Perform “hands on” maintenance as required to assure an on-time departure and company schedule requirements.
  • Develop quality policies, procedures and training; implement; and maintain SMS processes and safety programs within the maintenance organization.
  • Ensure safety promotion throughout the Maintenance Organization.
  • Perform other duties as required by the department.
