About The Position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer to join our team! This role is responsible for directing and facilitating the activities of nursing and clinical services. The Chief Nursing Officer assumes an active leadership role in the hospital’s decision-making structure and process, ensuring the competence of clinical staff, appropriate staffing for patient care, and clinical program development. This position develops hospital-wide systems, policies, and procedures for assessing, evaluating, and meeting patient nursing care needs. It includes overall responsibility and accountability for developing staffing plans and departmental budgets. The role is also responsible for planning the appropriate utilization of resources, maintaining or improving the work environment, and monitoring and improving the quality and appropriateness of care, ensuring appropriate staff for patient acuity. The Chief Nursing Officer works closely with Physicians to address patient care needs and enhance patient care systems. Additionally, this role promotes the facility through active involvement in external and internal healthcare service activities.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field – such as Public Health or Business Administration is required.
Five (5) years’ experience in a Nursing Management position supervising the delivery of patient care required.
Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required.
Valid driver’s license may be required where work is provided in multiple sites.
Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

Candidates enrolled in an applicable master’s program may be considered if they provide a written plan to complete the degree within two years.
Previous experience in Rehab preferred.
Current ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred.

Responsibilities

Directing and facilitating the activities of nursing and clinical services.
Assuming an active leadership role in the hospital’s decision-making structure and process.
Ensuring and facilitating the competence of the clinical staff.
Facilitating and ensuring the appropriate staffing for patient care.
Overseeing clinical program development.
Developing hospital-wide systems, policies, and procedures for patient nursing care assessment, evaluation, and meeting needs.
Overall responsibility and accountability for the development of staffing plans.
Developing and implementing departmental budgets.
Planning for the appropriate utilization of resources.
Maintaining or improving the work environment.
Monitoring and improving the quality and appropriateness of care.
Assuring appropriate staff for patient acuity.
Working closely with Physicians to address patient care needs and enhance patient care systems.
Promoting the facility through active involvement in external and internal healthcare service activities.
Managing and directing designated clinical departments, which may include nursing, therapies (including RT), dietary, radiology, laboratory services, employee health, infection control, and staff development.
