About The Position

As a top-level nurse and a cornerstone of our clinical operations, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is essential to Prairie View’s ability to provide high-level healthcare services to our patients. This executive role blends organizational, administrative, and clinical leadership to ensure our nursing strategies remain deeply aligned with our mission and goals. The CNO oversees the entire system’s nursing professional practice and acts as the strategic "right-hand" to the Medical Director. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will be a primary driver of quality, performance, and compassionate care throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare or clinical setting (with a Bachelor's Degree).
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare or clinical setting (with a Master's Degree).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence organizational outcomes, and manage complex operations.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to navigate high-pressure or sensitive situations with sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • A dedicated focus on continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nursing strategies that align with Prairie View’s mission, values, and long-term organizational goals.
  • Provide high-level leadership for nursing professional practice, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Medical Director and department leaders to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Champion regulatory and accreditation efforts, ensuring all clinical procedures meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a premier clinical team, overseeing staffing models and patient ratios to maintain excellence.
  • Participate in budgeting and financial oversight for assigned clinical departments, identifying technologies that enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing standards, policies, and clinical procedures.
  • Promote clinical excellence and high levels of staff engagement.
  • Identify and support the implementation of new processes to enhance quality and safety.
  • Facilitate opportunities for staff education, training, and professional development.
  • Serve as a role model for ethical leadership, accountability, and collaboration.
