About The Position

United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the country’s largest Ambulatory Surgery Center platform, is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Sherman in Sherman, TX. Baylor Scott & Surgical Hospital at Sherman is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a facility in which physicians have an ownership or investment interest. It features 14 inpatient beds, 8 OR’s, 3 PR’s, 2 Cath Labs, and a large outpatient imaging program, with state-of-the-art equipment for various specialty procedures including Bariatrics, GI, Heart and Vascular, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Spine, Urology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Podiatry, Robotics (2 Da Vinci, 1 Mako & 1 Aquablation) and GYN. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership for all nursing and clinical services, ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. This role is responsible for clinical excellence, staffing strategy, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across the organization. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CNO partners with physicians, administrators, and the governing board to advance the hospital’s mission, strategic goals, and operational performance. This position offers a significant opportunity to lead nursing and clinical services, collaborating with executive leadership, physicians, and clinical teams to shape care delivery, strengthen quality and safety practices, and support professional growth for nursing staff, making a lasting impact on patient outcomes, operational effectiveness, and team engagement.

Requirements

  • Surgical Hospital or other Hospital Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical departments
  • Ensure safe, effective, and compliant patient care through evidence-based nursing practice
  • Develop and manage nursing staffing models, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Lead quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Partner with physicians, executive leadership, and the governing board on strategy and operations
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice
  • Oversee talent development, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Integrate current research and best practices into nursing care delivery
  • Represent nursing services in medical staff, executive, and board meetings
