About The Position
Iroquois Memorial Hospital (IMH) is an acute care critical access hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. Founded in 1916, we have served the community for over a century and remain a cornerstone of local healthcare as the largest employer in Iroquois County, supporting approximately 350 dedicated employees. Our facilities include a 24/7 Emergency Department, a Progressive Care Unit, a 35-bed skilled nursing facility (Iroquois Resident Home), and several primary care clinics across Illinois and Indiana. Our vision is to provide cost-efficient, high-quality, and consumer-responsive healthcare services. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a pivotal executive leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care across the organization. As a key member of the administrative team, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and hold 24/7 oversight for the nursing and other assigned clinical areas. You will be the primary architect of patient care standards and nursing practice, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required
- A current Illinois nursing license in good standing.
- At least five years of clinical experience
- At least three years of nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practice, legal and regulatory healthcare issues, and a proven ability to solve complex problems and mentor team members.
Nice To Haves
- A Master’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a strategic vision for patient care that aligns with organizational goals, collaborating closely with the cross-functional leadership team.
- Establish a standard of excellence for clinical services, ensuring all practices are evidence-based and meet regulatory compliance.
- Oversee daily activities of nursing and assigned departments, managing resource allocation, workflows, and the hospital nurse staffing plan.
- Lead and initiate activities to improve patient outcomes and hospital efficiencies while encouraging staff to streamline care processes.
- Analyze financial data, participate in budget planning, and manage department resources efficiently.
- Promote a patient-centered environment by encouraging family feedback and actively participating in community engagement and professional organizations.
