About The Position

Inova Specialty Hospital Critical Illness Recovery Hospital (LTACH) is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. This role is central to providing compassionate, excellent care during vulnerable moments. The CNO will act as the clinical leader for the facility, collaborating with the CEO and HR leader to enhance both employee and patient experience. This position offers the opportunity to develop high-standard leadership skills, work with respiratory and rehabilitation departments, and lead a skilled clinical team. Responsibilities include resolving staffing ratios, improving the quality of care with senior nursing staff, engaging with regional leaders on staffing initiatives, leading educational programs for new graduates and re-entry nurses, and maintaining fiscal responsibility for hospital budgets and cost control. The role emphasizes treating others with respect and fostering a supportive and engaging culture.

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • MSN or equivalent Masters in Healthcare or enrollment in a Master's program required. Exceptions approved by SVP, Clinical Operations.
  • Three to Five years of hospital nursing experience required.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Experience with vents, hemodynamics, critical drips, ET Tubes and wounds.
