About The Position

Magnolia Operating, LLC (d/b/a Magnolia Bakery) is seeking a Chief Investment Officer to design and execute proprietary investment and scaling frameworks for consumer brands. This role involves deploying institutional capital across multi-vertical brand platforms, establishing repeatable commercialization models for various brand types, and influencing best practices in consumer-focused private-equity capital deployment. The Chief Investment Officer will develop and implement differentiated capital deployment structures, introduce integrated brand commercialization strategies, and oversee high-visibility transactions to catalyze job creation and global brand development. This position will serve as the architect of Magnolia's evolution into a broader consumer investment platform, identifying scalable adjacencies and designing a platform architecture for multi-brand acquisition and incubation. Responsibilities include constructing and overseeing an integrated portfolio strategy, performing financial modeling and valuation analyses, leading negotiations and transaction execution, and overseeing post-investment integration and value-creation. The role also involves designing master franchise and international partnership frameworks to ensure brand equity and global consistency. 10% international travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in the position offered or related.
  • 7 years of experience with planning and implementing strategic and tactical business decisions, including oversight, creation, and execution of a company’s multi-year and multi-faceted business plan.
  • 7 years of experience developing revenue-generating strategies for various properties and companies in the sports, entertainment, consumer, technology, and media industries and pursuing international business opportunities from an investment and business development perspective.
  • 7 years of experience performing financial and strategic evaluations for potential investments, negotiating and managing contract processes, and conducting deal analyses.
  • 7 years of experience consulting and coordinating with various departments to develop annual budgets, including personnel needs and internal growth projections.
  • 7 years of experience developing integrated financial investment strategies and portfolios for building and maintaining properties’ market positions in respective industries.
  • 7 years of experience preserving the market position and branding of operating companies within corporate portfolio to ensure investment productivity and efficiency.
  • 7 years of experience developing and implementing investment strategies and executing on such strategies by conducting market research, prospecting, and negotiating transactions end-to-end.
