About The Position

The Chief Inspector (CI) is responsible for performing quality assurance functions for Pegasus. The CI will have an FAA airframe & power plant license with Boeing and Airbus aircraft experience preferred. This position is a DOT Safety Sensitive position and will occasionally be required to function as an aircraft maintenance technician (AMT). The CI position is a technical services position whose work routine varies while following strict safety and set procedures. This position reports directly to the Quality System Manager and indirectly to the Director of Maintenance/Alternate Accountable Manager and/or President/Accountable Manager. Requirements

  • Possessing a good working knowledge of the Microsoft (MS) Windows OS as well as MS Office Suite applications such Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Applicants be at least 18 years of age.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
  • A minimum High School graduate or GED.
  • Possessing a valid FAA AMT license with an Airframe and Powerplant rating.
  • Possessing a valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to lift to 50 pounds comfortably.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The applicant be friendly with an outgoing personality.
  • The ability to work under stressful situations and within tight time constraints.
  • A self-motivated, team player.
  • The ability to occasionally work nights, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather as required.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to work independently, or as part of a team, with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as FAR’s, foreign aviation regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write maintenance, quality assurance and training reports, operations procedures for Repair Station Manual, Quality System Manual, Repair Station Training Manual, Pegasus Policies & Procedures Manual and general correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate with customers within and outside of the United States. These customers include many for whom English is their second language. Applicant must be patient and tolerant of differing cultural values and lingual challenges.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in non-standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Boeing and Airbus aircraft experience
  • Three to five years experience as a working A&P technician
  • Previous experience as a lead technician or team leader
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations or previous experience working as a quality inspector

Responsibilities

  • Ensures company compliance with the directives of the FAA, and other foreign aviation authorities (i.e. EASA, JCAB, and CAAC etc.) regulatory requirements.
  • Verifies compliance with air carrier requirements IAW FAR 145 § 145.205, and Pegasus’ Operations Specifications.
  • Hosts quality audits by regulatory agencies (FAA, EPA, and OSHA etc.), customer quality assurance departments, and foreign aviation regulatory agencies.
  • Develop, support, and enforce all company policies and safety programs.
  • Audits customer transit documents, corrects or causes to be corrected any identified discrepancies.
  • Liaise with customer representatives to create action policies, identify training initiatives, and solve service discrepancies.
  • Qualify and monitor PMX’s repair station vendors and suppliers.
  • Establishes quality control benchmarks and audits company activities to ensure their effectiveness and accomplishment.
  • Develop and conduct course studies for company initial indoctrination, recurrent, and on-the-job training and maintains training records.
  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills are essential for success.
  • Line maintenance related servicing of transport category aircraft.
  • Operate necessary ground handling equipment utilized to service aircraft.
  • Present a clean and neat work area to our customers.
  • Perform other duties as necessary by operational requirements.
