About The Position

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Chief Inspector at our Engine Center in Bridgeport, WV. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee inspection and regulatory compliance activities while supporting and implementing the Pratt & Whitney Engine Services Internal Quality Management System (QMS). You will serve as a key authority on regulatory compliance and inspection standards, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities meet stringent aviation safety and quality requirements. Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, quality inspection, or quality assurance in an aerospace environment, OR an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience, OR in lieu of a degree , a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License, Power Plant License (P), or Repairman Certificate
  • Must pass Vision Screening

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an aftermarket aviation or MRO environment
  • Direct experience with regulatory certification and audits
  • Experience performing return-to-service functions
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS9110 standards
  • Strong familiarity with FAA regulatory requirements and compliance practices

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations ISO 9001: 2015 AS9100 / AS9110 (latest revisions) Other applicable National Aviation Authority (NAA) requirements
  • Lead and manage the PWES regulatory compliance system, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to Quality Coordinators
  • Serve as the focal point for regulatory audits, inspections, and external agency interactions
  • Ensure accurate execution of inspection processes, documentation, and return-to-service determinations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System
  • Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in reporting, audits, and compliance documentation
