About The Position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides the technological and informational vision and leadership for Tri-Cities Community Health (TCCH). The CIO will lead TCCH in planning and implementing enterprise information systems and programs that support clinical and business operations. The CIO will lead business intelligence initiatives and design system-wide technology solutions. The CIO will be responsible for defining the strategic vision for information and technology and ensuring that it is effectively aligned with TCCH's organizational vision and goals.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science and Information Systems and five years of professional experience OR any combination of education and experience which would provide the candidate with the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or MS in degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, experience in athenahealth, and SQL background preferred.
  • CCNA/CCNP and athenahealth certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with other members of the Executive Team to provide strategic and tactical planning, development, and evaluation of the IT structure.
  • Responsible for the management and integration of the organization's information and communications systems, including voice, data, imaging, and other office automation.
  • Develops effective user-training programs for new and legacy software.
  • Defines IT strategic vision and ensures that it is effectively aligned with organizational vision and goals. Supervises the development of a strategic plan for hardware and network projects, including budget considerations, project prioritization, and project management.
  • Plans and directs the health information management service areas, ensuring compliance with professional, state and federal regulatory requirements. Leads the efforts for timely reporting of quality data and defined metrics. Provides oversight of data reporting plan for clinical activities and outcomes for strategic, quality, and grants initiatives.
  • Develops and implements organizational policies and procedures for patient data services, ensuring that TCCH meets current HIPAA and IT compliance standards.
  • Provides oversight of administration for all software on organization workstations or used by staff. This includes software that contains patient data, business software, and software vendors/partners that provide services outside the organization's network.
  • Ensures effective utilization of software that supports business processes and workflows of TCCH; supports current standards of practice for healthcare and technology. Research, monitor, and analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and IT performance to guide innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for cybersecurity and educating/training and monitoring end-users on effective measures required to prevent cyberattacks. Responsible for monitoring and updating known threats, scams and red flags.
  • Ensures that proper policies and procedures are written and implemented.
  • Serves as the TCCH Security Officer and ensures that data and TCCH IT assets are protected by defining, implementing, and monitoring system security and back up procedures. Ensures appropriate IT equipment inventory processes such as tracking, tagging, monitoring, disposal, standardization, etc.
