About The Position

MTC Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a forward-thinking financial leader to help shape the future of a member-focused credit union dedicated to financial strength, innovation, and service excellence. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO serves as a key strategic partner, responsible for the overall financial health of the organization while leading the Finance, Accounting, Compliance, and Information Technology functions. The successful candidate will balance strategic vision with operational excellence, ensuring sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, sound financial management, and organizational success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of banking or credit union experience with progressive financial leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong experience with financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and executive-level financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of Asset Liability Management (ALM), liquidity management, and investment strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence organizational strategy.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA designation.
  • Prior executive leadership experience in a credit union or financial institution.
  • Experience leading diverse functional areas, including finance, compliance, and technology.
  • Demonstrated success leveraging technology to improve processes and drive organizational results.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive team to develop and execute organizational strategies and long-term objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and insights that support growth, profitability, and member value.
  • Direct the Accounting, Finance, Compliance and IT departments while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Oversee the credit union’s investment portfolio and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the budgeting process, including financial forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions, and setting dividend and loan rates.
  • Oversee the two departments to ensure they are aligned with credit union strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, including BSA and OFAC requirements.
